Stock counts
Count a whole warehouse or cycle-count bins or products, optionally blind; stock keeps moving, and the reviewed differences are posted.
Before you start
Supervisors and administrators create, count and submit; only administrators approve, send back and reverse. Counts of one warehouse that overlap cannot run at the same time.
Steps
1. New count: choose the warehouse and scope (all, bins or products) and tick Blind if needed. The posting date starts on today and follows the planned count date when you fill one in. After creating it, start counting to take the snapshot.
2. Enter the counted quantity of each line (0 when nothing is there); add a line for stock the book does not know. Submit when every line is counted.
3. The reviewer checks the snapshot, the moves since the start and the differences, checks the posting date and approves, or sends chosen lines back for a recount.
Verify the result
Approving posts one count adjustment per difference; see them under Count differences in the stock reports.
Notes and examples
Example: snapshot 10, 1 shipped while counting, counted 7: the difference is −2 (against the book of 9 at entry), not −3.
Limitations
A loss that takes stock reserved for outbound releases the latest reservations on that bin; the approval message says how many, and the tasks keep their quantities. In a blind count only reviewers see book quantities. Once approved, nothing in that warehouse can be backdated before its posting date. To correct it, reverse the whole count and count again.
Troubleshooting
If submitting is refused, look for lines not counted yet. Stock posted between counting and entering distorts the difference: enter on the spot, or send the line back for a recount. Lists show the last 7 days of posting dates by default, and unfinished documents always show; widen the posting or planned dates to find older ones.
