Stock adjustments

Adjust stock for a reason (damaged, scrapped, found, lost, expired, other); it posts once submitted and approved.

Before you start

Supervisors and administrators create, change and submit; only administrators approve, reject and reverse.

Steps

1. New adjustment: choose the warehouse, reason (Other needs a note) and posting date, search for products and bins, and enter lots and plus or minus quantities.

2. Check the lines and submit.

3. The reviewer checks the posting date and approves and posts, or rejects with a reason.

Verify the result

Approving posts one adjustment move per line; see them in the moves of the stock reports.

Notes and examples

Example: 3 damaged units are −3; 2 units found in a bin are +2, and a new lot needs its expiry date.

Limitations

A decrease takes only available stock (on hand minus reserved); if it is short, nothing posts. An adjustment of stock that a running count also covers is counted twice. A posting date cannot change once approved; to correct it, reverse the whole adjustment and create a new one.

Troubleshooting

If approval is refused, read the product, bin and available quantity in the error; for reserved stock, change the allocation or cancel the task first. Lists show the last 7 days of posting dates by default, and unfinished documents always show; widen the posting dates to find older ones.
