Label Designer

Design the label layout: after selecting the bound data format, place fields, static text, barcode, QR code, image, detail table, and aggregate elements on the canvas; set paper size and DPI, and confirm the result with preview.

Before you start

  • Prepare the data format you'll bind to in Data Formats first.
  • Confirm the real label paper size (e.g. 60x40 mm) and printer resolution (203 or 300 DPI).

Steps

  1. Create a label layout
Enter a name, bind a data format, choose the label kind (single or subtotal — cannot be changed after creation), and set paper width/height.
  2. Add elements
Click a field on the left to quickly add it to the canvas; the tools area lets you add static text, 1D barcode, QR code, and images. Subtotal labels can include one detail table and aggregate fields (count or sum).
  3. Adjust position and style
Drag elements to position them, or select one and use arrow keys to nudge in 0.5mm steps (hold Shift for 1.0mm); set font size, bold, alignment, and geometry in the properties panel.
  4. Preview and save
Check the layout with "Code Preview" or "Sample Preview", then click "Save This Layout" when done.

Notes

  • Built-in SortingGo templates (distribution, subtotal, preparation, test print) never overwrite your modified version when the service starts.
  • A layout can be "Exported" as a JSON backup, "Imported" to restore, or "Duplicated" to create a copy; "Restore" reverts to the last saved state.
  • When a subtotal label's detail rows exceed one page's capacity, it automatically continues onto the next page; aggregate fields always show the total for the whole group, with a page marker added automatically when split (e.g. "(1/2) Total 123").

Limitations

  • Images support only PNG, JPEG, and WebP (no SVG or GIF); files should be under 512KB, with original width/height under 1200px.
  • Paper size and DPI must match the real label paper and printer resolution, or output may be shifted or clipped; final output quality still needs verification on real hardware via test print.
