Create and revoke API Keys used by the SortingGo APP (or an external system) to call the print API. The plaintext key is shown only once, at creation time.
Before you start
- Requires an administrator account.
Steps
- Generate a new key
Fill in a purpose label (e.g. "warehouse handheld app"), then click "Generate New Key". - Copy the plaintext key right away
Once you leave the page, the plaintext key can never be viewed again — copy and save it immediately. - Set up the connection in the APP
In the SortingGo APP, go to Settings > Print Settings, enter the server address (e.g. http://192.168.1.50:28088) and this key, then tap "Save and Test Connection". On success, the APP shows a successful connection and the number of label formats loaded. - Revoke when needed
Revoke a key if it's leaked or no longer in use — any APP currently using it will immediately lose print API access.
Notes
- When the APP shows "API Key invalid", it's usually a typo or a revoked key — create a new one and update the APP.
Limitations
- An API Key is sensitive — never post it publicly or share it with AI/support. When you need help, only describe whether it was created/revoked, the error message, and a masked partial value.
