New Custom Format

The wizard walks you through the sample file, header row, field mapping, filters, and preview before saving.

Steps

  1. Prepare a sample
Start by choosing a representative Excel or CSV file so the app can read its worksheets and columns.
  2. Complete mapping and filters
Map the source columns to SortingGo fields, and add conditions to import only specific rows if needed.
  3. Save after previewing
Confirm the data looks correct in the preview before saving. To use it right away, save the format and return to the import flow.

Notes

  • The floating help switches between sample, mapping, and filter guidance depending on which step you're on.
  • A custom format can map your own location column to storage_location; this mapping is available on Free too.

Limitations

  • Password-protected files require the correct password; a format cannot be created if there is no usable worksheet or header row.
