The DG Web browser client needs no separate app, but an installed, running DG host is required. For first-time setup, download the Classic installer. If your company already has a host, obtain its Web URL and your personal DG account from the administrator. Classic 2.0.0 is publicly released.

Host and services

Requires Windows 11 x64 24H2 or later, administrator approval, and at least 5 GiB free. Updates need additional room for the database and previous application. Download only Setup EXE and verify its release SHA-256. This release is unsigned: Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning; verify the download source.

Download and install the DG host / DG Web

On the official Get DG page, choose Download DistributionGo for free, then open Releases in the public GitHub repository below and download DistributionGo-Classic-Setup.exe. Normal installation needs only this EXE, not test scripts. Verify the matching SHA256SUMS.txt, run it on the host and approve the Windows administrator prompt. Choose Full for a single-machine setup; leave Odoo connector unchecked unless local Odoo 19 already exists. Select the local IP / hostname and allowed sources, review the summary and install. Open DistributionGo Web from the desktop or Start menu, configure certificate trust as needed, then sign in with the new-install admin / distributiongo account and change the password. Warehouse 0000 / default includes admin, so order import can begin. Upgrades and reattachment preserve existing credentials.

Choose Full, Database-only or Web-only. Web-only imports a protected connection file from its database host. Setup does not install Odoo Server; the optional connector targets an existing local Odoo 19. Select a local address and allowed source range. LocalSubnet or an IPv4 CIDR restricts clients on all Windows network profiles. Installation took about 5–10 minutes in testing; follow the displayed steps and elapsed time.

Open DistributionGo Web from the desktop or Start menu. New installation: admin / distributiongo; change the password after signing in. Warehouse 0000 / default includes admin. InstallationInfo.txt in the program directory records endpoints and allowed sources without passwords.

For LAN HTTPS, open Certificate trust and export, verify the fingerprint, and explicitly approve local trust as administrator. Export a ZIP for each other client to configure once. Do not rely on bypassing browser warnings. For a formal domain, import a matching PFX. Let’s Encrypt certificates are free, but issuance, renewal and reimport are administrator-managed; this installer does not automate them.

Run Setup again to modify settings, upgrade or reinstall using retained data. Uninstall keeps the data directory. Backup and recovery (https://github.com/eltonwangpx-wq/distributiongo-classic#backup-and-recovery-administrator-powershell) require the same host, role, paths and application package. Backups contain private keys: keep them protected. A Web-only backup does not include the remote database. ThousanAI starts enabled with a unique local key, without a bundled model API key; cloud questions require connectivity and privacy consent.

Web and App addresses

Administrators supply the Web management address and the App pairing LAN address/port; they serve different purposes. A phone's localhost or 127.0.0.1 cannot reach the PC. Verify the pairing QR in Configuration and recheck pairing if the host IP changes.

Check connectivity layer by layer

1. Open DG Web on the host to verify the server.

2. Open its management address from another computer on the trusted network.

3. Connect the phone to a reachable network; check guest Wi-Fi isolation, VPN routes and firewall.

4. Pair using the provided App address and port, then sign in with DG credentials.

5. Check device last seen and test dispatch/synchronization with a small synthetic batch.

Firewall and internet boundaries

Open only approved DG management/Connector ports to trusted networks. Do not expose the database on LAN or disable the entire firewall for diagnosis. Connector LAN and Web HTTPS entrances differ. Bundled help needs no internet once available, but DG host access is still required; external documents and updates need internet.

What to report

Record whether failure occurs on the host, local browser, another computer or phone, plus version, time and non-secret error codes. If host Web fails, operations should check services. If Web works but App fails, check App address, version, plan and device sign-in restrictions.

Why does localhost work on the PC but not the phone?

On a phone it refers to the phone itself. Use the DG host's pairing LAN address/port and verify network and firewall access.

Can I work without internet?

Bundled help needs no internet, but Web and App synchronization still need the DG host. Unsynchronized App results are not received by DG; external documents and updates require internet.
